From 24th to 26th July 2023, CEJAD held a training workshop for the resilient team in Kakamega on health and safety to enhance their capacity to enforce self-regulation in the Artisanal and Small- Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sector in Kenya and reduce cases of accidents and deaths from gold mines. The training was provided by the Directorate of Occupational Safety and Health Services (DOSHS).

Health and safety Capacity building workshop for the resilient team in Kakamega
From July 24-26, 2023, CEJAD conducted a training workshop in Kakamega on health and safety for the resilient team in the Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining (ASGM) sector. The Montreal Protocol, adopted in 1987, protects the ozone layer by regulating ozone-depleting substances (ODS), such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). It mandates the phase-out of CFC and HCFC production and consumption with specific timeframes for different Parties, based on their status as a developed or developing country.
Our work under this program aims to reduce the health and environmental impacts associated with waste and plastics throughout their life cycle. Over the years, plastic and plastic products have emerged as problematic and hazardous to human health and the environment.
