On July 6, 2023, CEJAD organized a training at the University of Nairobi's Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (INST) for regulatory and government agencies on using Handheld XRF Spectrometers to monitor illegal mercury in skin lightening creams. The training, in collaboration with NEMA, was attended by KEBS, KIRDI, KRA, MOH, PPB, Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, and Government Chemist.

5th June 2023, Mr Aaron Kecha, an Environmental scientist from CEJAD discussed the effects of chemicals in plastic on the health of consumers alongside other environmental champions as they discuss the pursuit of real solution amid #PlasticPollution.

On 14th April 2023, CEJAD in collaboration with CIEL, organized an Africa Civil Society Workshop on the Global Plastics Treaty in Nairobi. The meeting reviewed the draft document and identified key priorities for Africa region to champion in the treaty during the INC-2 in Paris.

CEJAD and Solidaridad formed the Artisanal Small-Scale Miners Association of Kenya (ASMA-K) in January 2023 to advocate for miners' rights. ASMA-K, based at Madini House, represents miners from across Kenya in national and international forums, including the Minamata Convention and Mining Indaba
